Description
V12 reeds for Bb clarinet are made from cane tubes of the same diameter as the cane used for alto saxophone reeds. As a result, they have a thicker heel and are cut on a longer paddle with a slightly thicker toe than the traditional. The longer paddle means more of the reed vibrates, resulting in a deeper, richer sound. The thicker end gives body to the attack and also increases the longevity of the reed.
